Expert review of the Epson Expression XP-610 printer
Our Verdict
The multifunction Epson Expression XP-610 is a moderately-specified printer that provides some over-and-above features, but maintains a focus on printing. It provides scanning capabilities, but does without some of the most high-end functions. Running costs are incredibly low due to the availability of compatible (third-party replacement) cartridges - see above. High-capacity Epson-original cartridges are not available, which means costs remain higher if you'd rather use Epson products. Maximum print resolution is 5760 x 1440 dpi, while mono print speed is 13ppm and colour print speed is 10ppm.
Design & Features

The screen usefully displays photos transferred directly to the printer. As for paper handling, the Epson Expression XP-610 features a 100-sheet paper tray. This A4 printer comes as standard with a scanner, an integrated touch screen, wifi, a memory card reader, a copier, a PictBridge connection and .
We Like
Printer sharing is increasingly important and the Epson Expression XP-610 features wifi so it can be shared across computers, even if a wired network connection is not readily available. With high-end printing and ink technologies, it's a photographer's dream.
We Don't Like
At 11 years old, the Epson Expression XP-610 is getting a bit long in the tooth. Running costs aren't as low as they could be as no high-capacity cartridges are available.
